Recently, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers responsible for cleaning the waterway released a tentative schedule, planning to fully restore port navigation before the end of May.
On March 26, a container ship flying the flag of Singapore collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, and the bridge collapsed after being hit. Eight people fell into the water, among which two were rescued and six were missing.
According to CBS, around 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time on April 5, search and rescue personnel found the body of the third deceased worker at the accident site of the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore.
According to U.S. media reports, the port of Baltimore currently has opened a temporary waterway for vessels to clear the wreckage of the bridge. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said it is prepared to open a temporary waterway about 85 meters wide and about 11 meters deep before the end of April to provide services for container barges and some roll-on/roll-off ships carrying cars and agricultural equipment.
In addition, it is planned to reopen the permanent federal waterway about 213 meters wide and about 15 meters deep before the end of May to restore the normal handling capacity of the port of Baltimore.
